Eco Flo Biodegradable Packing Peanuts offer an eco-friendly yet highly effective alternative to standard loose fill packaging. Providing better impact protection that polystyrene, Eco Flo is 100% biodegradable and dissolves in water to eliminate littering.

Suitable for a variety of items from delicate and fragile products to heavier components and parts. The peanuts pack closely around the product, preventing it from sinking to the bottom, where items may be more susceptible to damage.

15 cubic feet bags are approximately 127cm high and have an approx. diameter of 66cm.

Each ‘chip’ varies in size but they are approximately 4cm long with a diameter of 1.5-2cm.

How to recycle packing peanuts

Made from corn starch, EcoFlo loose fill is 100% biodegradable and compostable in accordance with EN 13432, the international standard for biodegradability.

After the packing peanuts have served their purpose protecting products in packages, EcoFlo can be either reused or recycled back into nature. The packing peanuts can be:

Simply washed away with water;
Placed in home compost;
Sent to an industrial compost facility.

FAQs

Your loose fill may be 100% biodegradable, but does it perform as well?

Yes, if not better! Independent tests by Brunel University and the University of Humberside show that EcoFlo prevents product migration and provides better impact protection than polystyrene.

Your loosefill is made from starch. What difference does that make?

Our loosefill is biodegradable and conforms to EN13432, making it suitable for domestic or municipal compost. It will dissolve in water which eliminates the problem of littering. Starch is an annually renewable resource, not a depleting resource like petro-chemical based polystyrene.

Is the production process environmental?

Yes! A low energy, single stage production process is used, compared to the multi stage, high energy process used for producing polystyrene. Our loosefill uses steam instead of pentane gas as the blowing agent.

How will my customers and I be affected by the Waste Packaging Legislation?

Compared to polystyrene you and your customers will have a lower recycling and recovery obligation and reduced costs.

Does starch based loosefill attract rodents?

No, there is little or nothing of value in either product to be attractive to rodents. If rodents are already on the premises, they have been known to nest in all loosefill products including polystyrene. The presence of biodegradable loosefill will not encourage rodents into the warehouse.
